Events to help you protect and grow your virtual and online business 5Session 3 – How important is GDPR compliance for a virtual assistant? 11am, 2nd September 2021, in the VA Theatre

When starting up as a Virtual Assistant, it can be hard to work out what you do and don’t need to ensure you are running your business in the best way possible and, in these uncertain times, being able to support and protect your business is vital. Come and listen to Annabel Kaye, legal expert and speaker with over 40 years’ experience, share what you need when thinking about contracts and go through the key things you need to be really clear about. GDPR can feel like another overwhelming piece of compliance for Virtual Assistants, on top of a lot of other things. Despite the May 2018 implementation date, many of us are still not really clear about how it works both for us and for our clients. Come and join Annabel as she talks about the importance of GDPR compliance, with no fuss, no jargon, just common sense – and a touch of humour added.

South West Virtual Assistant Collaboration

We will be talking about what the modern VA needs in place to stay on the right side of GDPR with all its changes.

If you are a SW-based VA this is a great opportunity to meet your local VAs and get on top of a subject that can be a bit scary or boring in a fun and useful way.

Don’t forget to ask lots of questions.

KoffeeKlatch live with Annabel Kaye - EU and GDPR update

The UK now has an ‘approved’ data privacy regime but the two systems are continuing to evolve.

The EU has updated its standard contractual clauses and you will need to be using them from September onwards if you are EU based and sending data in and out of the EU.

What do you need to do about sharing data into non-approved countries including the USA?

Will the UK  use the same format for standard contractual clauses or another one?

In an increasingly global virtual world, what do you need to do to stay on the right side of things without making it even more complicated than it already is?

Join us and get your head straight and start getting those ducks in a row.
